1968 Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada

1968 Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada For Sale North Miami Beach FL

For five years in the 1960s, a former Alfa Romeo and Ferrari engineer by the name of Giotto Bizzarrini went into business for himself, staring Bizzarrini S.p.A., another Italian automaker specializing in high-performance sports and race cars. One such vehicle, built near the end of the brand’s tenure in 1968, was the 5300 GT Strada. Only 133 of these vehicles were built, and we’ve got one of them for sale right here in North Miami Beach FL. This might be one of the rarest vehicles to pass through our inventory, so if you’re a collector – especially of Italian sports cars – you’re not going to want to overlook this one.

Technical Specifications

The 5300 GT Strada was a front mid-engine, rear-wheel drive vehicle with a 327 Chevrolet small-block engine resting beneath its hood. That 5.4L engine was capable of generating 365 horsepower alongside 284 pound-feet of torque, which enabled it to accelerate from 0-62 miles per hour quicker than 7 seconds before continuing onto a top speed of 174 mph. Other performance features include a set of Dunlop four-wheel disc brakes, a 4-speed manual transmission, a de Dion tube rear suspension system and a limited slip differential.

History

As mentioned, only 133 units of this vehicle were built. Production began in 1964 and ceased in 1968, and it was without a doubt the most popular model built by the short-lived company. That was helped in part by its ninth-place finish in the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans. While it might not have the premium features found in most Italian sports cars on the market today, it would certainly be an incredible addition to any high-performance collection regardless.
