It hasn’t been all that long since the last time we looked at a vintage Toyota Land Cruiser, but we’ve currently got two in stock and these throwback models are quite rare to be in such fine condition. The model in question today is a 1983 Land Cruiser FJ40 that we have for sale right here in North Miami Beach FL. It’s a completely different type of Land Cruiser from the 1980 model we looked at recently, in this case, a two-door short wheelbase four-wheel-drive model with a hardtop.

Performance Specs & Premium Features
The J40 series is the name given to the Land Cruisers built from 1960 to 1984. This two-door traditional SUV features a hardtop and inward-facing rear bench seats. The FJ40 is the most basic of the J40 series, and the 1983 models – which this one is – were the last built before transitioning to the next generation, which was the J70 series.
Powered by a 4.2L 4-cylinder engine, this vintage Land Cruiser is capable of generating 135 horsepower alongside 210 pound-feet of torque. While it might not have the off-road technologies present in today’s vehicles, this Land Cruiser was built to tackle the off-road, which is certainly obvious by looking at its wheels and tires and other various features around the exterior.
On the inside, there aren’t a ton of modern features either, though you can maximize cargo space by folding up the pair of rear jump seats that we mentioned earlier. This Toyota vehicle will certainly have you feeling nostalgic whether on display, driving around town or actually tackling the off-road nature it was designed to tackle. If you think you’re interested in bringing it home for yourself, be sure to reach out to us right away here at Prestige Imports today!
