We’ve done a lot of these spotlight blogs over the years, but when it comes to the Land Rover brand, we haven’t yet shined a light on a Discovery. The Land Rover Discovery has been around for just over three decades, so while it might not have the same pedigree as the Range Rover, it has certainly built its own legacy. Enough of a legacy to have its own spinoff model, a compact luxury crossover known as the Discovery Sport. We’ve currently got a 2016 Discovery Sport HSE LUX for sale right here at Prestige Imports in North Miami Beach FL, so we’re finally highlighting a member of this iconic nameplate!

Technical Specs & Performance Times
The Land Rover Discovery Sport was introduced in 2014 as a smaller version of the midsize Discovery, sliding right into the compact crossover segment in place of its predecessor the Land Rover Freelander. Powered by a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, the 2016 Discovery Sport is capable of generating up to 240 horsepower. With all of its weight and its relatively small engine, it isn’t as quick as some more performance-oriented crossovers but is capable of accelerating from 0-60 in a respectable 7.6 seconds.
How many seats are there?
We thought we’d address this in particular as the Discover Sport adopts a relatively unique “five plus two” configuration. The front row includes two seats while the second row has three seats, like most compact crossovers. However, there’s a third row of two seats best suited for children 15 years of age and under that can be folded into the trunk when not in use. So, technically, you can sit up to seven passengers in the Discovery Sport!
