We’ve got a phenomenal vehicle in the spotlight for you today, a grand touring sports car that was only just unveiled a couple of years ago at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The vehicle we’re talking about is a 2019 Ferrari Portofino, the two-door 2+2 hardtop convertible that Ferrari just began producing last year. Performance Specs & Premium Features
The Portofino is the successor to the Ferrari California. It’s the brand’s new V8 GT vehicle moving forward, named after the Italian village of Portofino itself. The engine by which it’s powered is a 3.9L twin-turbocharged V8 engine capable of generating 592 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 561 pound-feet of torque at 3,000-5,250 rpm. The engine is tethered to the same 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that was found in its predecessor, the California T. All of this enables the Portofino to get from a complete stop up to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds, or to 124 mph in 10.8. Its top speed is 199 mph.
Other important specs and features to take into consideration where performance is concerned includes its 3,668-pound curb weight, the magnetorheological dampers found in its suspension system, 245/35ZR20 front tires and 285/35ZR20 tires in the rear. Of course, performance isn’t the only thing Ferrari vehicles are known for, as they’re also some of the most luxurious cars on the road.
A few other features the Portofino has to offer include its retractable hardtop, which can be opened or closed in just 14 seconds, even while you’re moving at low speeds. Exotic sports cars aren’t usually known for their space, but the trunk of this new Ferrari has enough space for two fairly sizable suitcases or equivalent gear.
