Technical Specs & Electric Range
The Model Y Long Range is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous reluctance motor and a 75-kWh lithium-ion battery. This electric powertrain enables the vehicle to travel an EPA-estimated 303 miles on a full charge, hence the Long Range name. Tesla has advertised the vehicle as being able to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 155 miles per hour.
Another important performance specification to consider is the drag coefficient, which is 0.23 in this model. In addition, though not related to performance, the vehicle offers a maximum cargo capacity of 68 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down, including the cabin and both trunks.
