Last month at the 2019 LA Auto Show, more specifically during Karma’s presentation at AutoMobility LA, Karma introduced a new concept vehicle. Karma is establishing itself as a technology-driven brand, and this new concept vehicle, the Karma SC2, certainly begins to demonstrate that. Giving a bold glimpse into the future of the brand, the SC2 is gorgeous. We thought we’d highlight some of the performance specs & tech features that the vehicle offers, to give you an idea of where vehicles produced by the brand are heading.

“SC2 presents an optimistic and bold message about Karma’s future as we enthusiastically accept the challenge of elevating experience-driven mobility. In creating SC2, we have enhanced the thrill of the open road through connected, interactive patented technology, beyond that of a traditional high-performance luxury vehicle.”– Andreas Thurner, Vice President of Global Design & Architecture, Karma Automotive
What kind of vehicle is the SC2?
The SC2 concept car is a full-blown Battery Electric Vehicle, running completely on electricity. Despite that, its incredible powertrain – which includes twin electric motors mounted in the rear – generates 1,100 horsepower alongside 10,500 pound-feet of torque.
What kind of range does the SC2 provide?
The SC2 BEV concept is capable of delivering a pure-electric range of up to 350 miles. To compare, the Revero GT has an electric range of 80 miles.
What is Drive and Play® technology?
This unique new technology includes a triple high-definition camera mounted beneath the windshield as well as frequency-modulated continuous-wave lidar sensors, enabling the technology to capture the vehicle’s entirety in a digital 3D environment. Other technologies capture everything about the vehicle, including aspects like braking, turning, accelerating, even sounds, lights, the temperature of the air and your audio playlist. Once your drive is finished, the cabin turns into a simulator via an adaptive laser projector, replaying the drive for you in its entirety.

We’re so excited to see what Karma Automotive does next and how these new technologies will be integrated into production models down the road. Keep checking back on our blog for updates!
