You may have noticed that the weather has not-so-subtly become hot and humid again, and that can only mean one thing: time to hit the beach! While the weather is always beautiful here in south Florida, the summer heat is swiftly approaching and the best way to deal with the heat and humidity that comes with it is a trip to one of the amazing beaches in the Miami area.

Kicking off our list of the best beaches near Miami is, of course, South Beach. Did you really think we would start off with anything else? South Beach is constantly rated as not only one of the best beaches in Florida, but as one of the best in the entire world! South Beach is an absolute must-see for those who are new to the area, or simply visiting Miami. You have to visit South Beach at least once during your trip! South Beach offers many kid-friendly options, as well as delicious food carts across the beach in case anyone gets hungry.
Crandon Park Beach
Located on the pristine island of Key Biscayne, Crandon Park Beach has white sand beaches, volleyball courts, and much, much more. You can rent a cabana for the day which can turn into your family’s home base during your time at the beach. There is an abundance of local wildlife roaming the island which the kids are sure to love, and Key Biscayne is host to some of the best pizza and ice cream places in Miami! Crandon Park Beach does charge $7 for parking on the weekends, however, so be sure to plan accordingly!
Hollywood Beach
For those who are looking for a more old-school Florida beach rather than the atmosphere at South Beach, Hollywood Beach is the perfect destination. Bordered by a 2.5-mile long boardwalk, and promenade, Hollywood Beach has something that everyone will enjoy. Available on the boardwalk is a trolley tour that goes through downtown Hollywood and ends up back at the beach. If your family gets hungry during your stay at the beach, Hollywood is home to a multitude of different restaurants that will surely cater to even the most picky of eaters.
